The Koran was written down from the words of Muhammad by his companions.
The Qur'an has been the subject of many studies by both Muslim and non-Muslim scholars. In the Muslim world, “Perfection in the Quranic Sciences” by Jalal ad-Din al-Suyuta (1455-1505) is recognized as one of the general works.
