Dark Riddle Review- Thrilling Adventure Game with Fun Puzzles
If you are a fan of Hello Neighbor themed adventure game with various of interesting puzzles, you will definitely enjoy Dark Riddle! In this game you also need to face an unsociable neighbor who hates kids and the house if full of mysterious secrets. Dark Riddle doesn’t have too many horror elements like the horror game Granny, so take it easy to solve puzzles in this game as nothing will scare you out of sudden.
Graphics & Control
The graphics in Dark Riddle is very bright and colorful, and the quality is very good in every detail. You can see the hard work of the designers in Dark Riddle from clean and user-friendly menu and the realistic object design from small apples to big boxes. You can also customize the character in different skins and costumes as you like.
The controls are quite intuitive and easy to operate. There is a moving pad where you can control your characters to move in different directions, a hand button that you can use to push the door, a throw button that you can throw away the objects on your hand as a tool or weapon, and an action button that you can jump or squat to climb over the walls or hide from the neighbor. These controls all responses very fast and fluent without any glitch, which helps a lot in the game experience.
Gameplay
In Dark Riddle your task is to sneak into the unusual neighbor’s house and pass all traps and the monitors to unveil the truth in this creepy house while trying not to be caught by the neighbor. Be careful to search for any useful items such as flashlight, keys, laser guns and gas cans, etc. to help you go through the puzzles and fight against the neighbor. You can check the location of the neighbor on the minimap at the left up corner of the screen, and take shelter in your own house where the neighbor won’t be able to get in. The first person viewing experience helps players to feel more immersed into the game.
There will be many traps, locks and closed doors in the neighbor’s house, so you need to carefully searching each corner for different keys and password to solve the puzzles and open the locked doors. A horn icon is at the corner of the minimap which indicates the noise you make at the present. When the horn is green that means the noise is not too loud to get the neighbor’s notice, when it turns red together with the map, that means you have caught the neighbor’s attention and he is coming for you! So make sure not to cause loud noise and run as fast as possible to get away from the neighbor. There are certain weapons you can pick up to attack the neighbor and give you time to run away instead of being caught. If you were caught by the neighbor, then everything will start all over again.
As you progress to the deeper of the house, you will find out more secrets in the house, especially in the basement, where the puzzles get harder and more complex to solve, so use your brain to think about the usage of each special item in your sight so you don’t get stuck in the last place.
