Stay alive while exploring the island, and find opportunities to be rescued

What three things will you bring when sent to a desert island? A knife to prepare food and protect yourself from beasts? A first aid kit that can be used in emergency? Or even books to kill time? Well, none of these are possible in Lost in Blue, an adventure game, because you’re thrown on the island after plane crash and has no idea about how dangerous this place is.

When I got started, I thought that it was just another survival game where you searched for other survivors and a safe shelter and waited for rescue. But I knew I was wrong the moment when strange-looking “people” who came from nowhere ran to me and tried to kill me. The game is much more exciting than it is in the official textual and video introduction. Now let’s walk through it and see whether you find it intriguing.

Scary mutants: The island has been polluted

Lost in Blue Review

Most of the time, the island is overclouded by dark mist. Both humans and beasts have been infected by some virus that is spread by the mist and attack whatever is alive and moving. Though you won’t be turned after being bitten, you must never let your guard down in the island swarmed by mutants.

They wander in the forest, on the beach, near the survivor’s shelter and more. To know where they are in one scene, look at red spots in the map, which show zombies around you. This can help you avoid running into zombie swarms and being killed. Knowing their whereabouts is as important as being equipped with excellent equipment, especially when you enter a newly unlocked region and meet monsters hard to deal with.

Lab Alpha: Figure out what has happened

Lost in Blue Review

Luckily, instead of just waiting to be rescued, scientists in the island are investigating the cause of the disarster. Your task is to help them collect polluted blood samples from mutants in Lab Alpha. The Lab, overrun by mutants, is actually less of a place for scientists to do research than of a dungeon for you to earn rewards including rare equipment and crafting materials. Give blood samples you curated by killing common and boss mutants to Dr. Alenka and get bountiful valuable items.

Craft excellent equipment

Lost in Blue Review

Lost in Blue has a powerful crafting system that allows you to make nearly whatever equipment and tools by yourself. This means you don’t have to pay a lot of money to other players or the system shop for a desired weapon. Just view what are needed in crafting a piece of equipment, collect and craft on your own.

One thing to be careful with is that equipment has durability, which means you have to repair what you wear regularly, or they will be broken. When I failed to repair my spear, hat, coat, shoes and more for a long time, their durability fell to zero and could not be used to attack mutants or protect my character anymore.

Lost in Blue Review

The higher level your character is, the more powerful and diverse equipment you can craft. If you want to kill mutants more efficiently by using modern tools like the gun rather than primitive weapons such the spear, earn more EXP and level up!

Construct a shelter from scratch

Lost in Blue Review

Though you’re able to find other survivors, your survival is not guaranteed. You have to build your own shelter from the ground up. In real life, you may rely on online shopping for everything you need, from everyday essentials to furniture, while here in the game you must make them by yourself. This is annoying sometimes, but you will feel satisfied when you have turned a once-empty camp into a productive, safe shelter.

Travel light: Stop stockpiling whatever you see

Lost in Blue Review

People tend to stockpile supplies during a crisis. Just as many pile up toilet paper and food in the COVID-19 pandemic, in the game I collected everything on my way such as bananas, coconuts, grass and wooden planks in the first place. I didn’t realize that a survivor should travel light to be ready for battle anytime. I think that’s why the developer designed a backpack with initial space for only 10 types of items. Make sure you bring essentials such as HP potion, water and food and backup equipment before leaving for a boss fight, and throw away materials that can be found everywhere. In this way, you can come back with treasure and rewards.

Conclusion

Credited as one of the best Android games in June, 2021, Lost in Blue is definitely worth your attention, especially if you are a big fan of survival games set in an apocalyptic world. Whether you’ll be beating mutants to keep your shelter and friends safe, crafting equipment to become stronger, or building facilities to make your camp not only a place to take shelter but also to live, believe me or not, the game is much more than expectation.

But one thing I want to complain is that there are too many in-app purchases for things you can collect and make by yourself. Just remember don’t take the easier way and spend real money to buy items you need, or you’ll regret when you find how easily you can get them later. Download Lost in Blue now on APKPure.fo for free and have fun!
