Otherworld Legends Review – A Fast-Paced Roguelike Action Mobile Game
After ChillyRoom released the awesome rogue-like dungeon crawler Soul Knight, they have kept updating this game frequently to bring out new items for players to stay entertained with this action game. Recently ChillyRoom finally released Otherworld Legends, more like a grown-up version of the Soul Knight with more characters, improved controls and better graphics. Let’s go into the mysterious dungeons of Otherworld with its well-designed Heroes.

Satisfying graphics & Easy Controls
The graphics of Otherworld Legends is much better than the Soul Knight. ChillyRoom mixes 2D and 3D pixel art styles for the level design and uses beautiful hand-drawn animations. The controls are very easy to use as well. There is a movement pad at the left corner and a dodge pad plus skill buttons at the right corner. However, sometimes the controls seem clunky during fight and it would be better to let players customize the control layouts to fit their fighting styles and add directions in the dodge button.
Explore in Mythical Otherworld Dungeons
In Otherworld Legends you will enter room by room to fight against enemies and collect items and equipment to help you level up. You will come across different enemies including Japanese soldiers, ninjas and even toads that spit acid, but these are easy to kill and help you to upgrade your skills for the later boss fight. According to some players, the boss fights are pretty tough to complete, so you may have to take a lot of practice until you get strong enough to kill the bosses. After each fight, you keep going around to explore the mythical otherworld dungeons like tranquil bamboo grooves, zen patios, grand underworld tombs or dreamy mirage palace to find the secret hidden in the Otherworld.
Multiple Heroes Each with Unique Skills
There are many heroes in the Otherworld Legends featuring different positions and distinct fighting skills. For example, Gerard Quentin is a knight from Montargis and is equipped with a shield. He can unleash a halo around to heal allies and hurt enemies within its range. Ginzo is a swordsman who can dash forward and perform strong sweeping strikes to make enemies hit stunned for a while. Akaisha is a legendary archer who is an expert at beating enemies from afar. And Oli is a genius in mechanics who is good at collecting items during fights and building support weapons.
You will start as first Hero Quan Huying, a Kungfu girl who has developed multiple combat skills to cope with ever-changing fierce fights. This is the only free Hero for players to use, and the other Heroes require either gems or real money to unlock.
Collect Cool Items and Equipment
Each character can be equipped with different items and weapons to make it more powerful. And players can customize weapons to suit their fighting styles. In each game fight, you will get coins, gems and equipment from the chest or vendor. Moreover, you can assemble several items to make a build which is more powerful and brings more damage.
