The version you will be tested on during the civics test will depend on your N-400 filing date (BEFORE Dec 1, 2020, you will take the 100-question version; ON or AFTER Dec 1, 2020, you will take the 128-question version).
For those taking the 128-question version:
The actual civics test is NOT a multiple choice test, but it is an oral interview. During the interview, a USCIS officer will verbally ask you up to 20 questions from the list of 128 questions in English. You need to answer 12 out of the 20 questions correctly to pass the civics test.
For those taking the 100-question version:
The actual civics test is NOT a multiple choice test, but it is an oral interview. During the interview, a USCIS officer will verbally ask you up to 10 questions from the list of 100 questions in English. You need to answer 6 out of the 10 questions correctly to pass the civics test.
